Good for scars, stiffness and to increase different ranges of movement. A deeply relaxing treatment, wonderful to unwind from mental or physical trauma.
Myofascial release massage is a type of soft tissue massage that works directly with the body's fascia - the connective tissue that holds us together. Sheree is a JingTM myofascial release trained therapist. Fascia surrounds every muscle, organ, bone, veins, arteries and more within the body. But as a muscle can contract and become tight, fascia can become stiff and tense and trap the muscle from being able to glide and function properly. Trauma, injury, surgery and bad posture can all contribute to fascial adhesions and restrictions across the body, which in time, reduces the range of movement we have leading to stiffness, restricted movement and compensatory movement patterns. There are two types of myofascial release, direct and indirect. Direct work focuses on structural integration and correction of alignment within the tissues. In-direct work is gentler and allows the body to unwind and sit back into a comfortable, more normal posture. In- direct work is great for systemic conditions such as asthma and fibromyalgia, where deep massage techniques would be too painful or not well suited. Myofascial release can really unwind the body into a comfortable, sustainable position and even release mental traumas held within the fascia's memory.
