At Podium Therapies our sports massage is delivered with the expertise of a Commonwealth athlete. Sheree’s experience first hand as an athlete, competing for Team GB, and currently working with a range of sporting athletes and clubs, means she has the understanding and empathy needed to help your sporting needs. She is trained to Britain’s highest level of Sports massage, ITEC5. She is registered with the Sports massage Association (SMA) and the Complementary and natural healthcare council (CHNC). She is also registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and has won many awards such as Sports massage therapist of the year. Using our heated orthopedic massage bed, sports massage uses similar techniques to the deep tissue massages, but with targeted muscle groups in mind, specific to the clients needs. You don’t need to be sporty or play a sport to have a sports massage. Sports massage aids more in the pre and post recovery of a physical activity. From walking up Pen-Y-Fan on the weekend, to your elite athletes going to the Olympics, Sheree has experience with preventing injuries, identifying any niggles and helping tired, fatigued muscles back to full recovery. Each Sports massage can include dry needling, the Western version of Acupuncture to treat specific trigger points and stubborn “knots” in muscles. It also includes myofascial cupping and sports tape to help with recovery post massage where needed. This is all included in the price. Sheree has experience working with Rugby, Lawn Bowls, Judo and wrestling with Team Wales at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. She also worked at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 in the athletes village Polyclinic seeing sports from across the Commonwealth. Sheree continues to support the Welsh Parkinson’s football team and offers 10% off for national level athletes and above. Please note: For persistent pain, chronic pain or acute injuries, please book a clinical massage as this will need further consultation and orthopaedic assessment time.
